Moisture is a fatal factor leading to motor failure, from splashing rain or moisture generated by condensation can intrude into the motor, especially when the motor is in intermittent operation, after parking for several months, the coil insulation should be checked before use, otherwise it is easy to burn the motor.
If the motor is damp, the following methods can be used:
1. Circulating hot air drying method: Make a drying chamber with thermal insulation materials (such as masonry with refractory brick), with an outlet left above and an inlet on the side. The air inlet is connected with the heating chamber, and the 220v electric furnace wire of about 3kw is installed in the insulating ground of the heating chamber (the heating chamber can also be heated by other methods). The heating chamber can be made of iron sheet, and the hot air of the heating chamber is blown into the drying chamber with a hair dryer to dry the motor winding. The hot air temperature of the drying chamber is controlled at about 100℃.
2, bulb drying method: put one or several high-power incandescent bulbs (such as 100w) into the motor cavity for drying. Note: The bulb should not be too close to the coil to prevent burning the coil. The motor housing can be covered with canvas and other objects for insulation.
3. Desiccant can also be used:
(1) quicklime desiccant. The main component is calcium oxide, and its water absorption capacity is achieved by chemical reaction, so water absorption is irreversible. Regardless of the humidity of the external environment, it can maintain a hygroscopic capacity greater than 35% of its own weight, and is more suitable for low temperature storage, with excellent dry hygroscopic effect, and the price is low.
(2) silicone desiccant. This desiccant is different varieties of silica gel packaged in moisture-permeable small bags. The main raw material of silica gel is a water-containing silica with high microporous structure, which is non-toxic, tasteless, odorless, chemically stable and has strong hygroscopic properties. The relative price is more expensive.
